From the Dean

Our program year ended with the Scholarship Recital on May 1 and the Scholarship competition on May 7. I'd like to thank all of our AGO Board members for their work this year: Sebastian Modarelli, sub-dean; Katherine Shapinsky, secretary; Brian Poch, treasurer; Eileen Nelson Ness, newsletter; Nancy Wales, scholarship program; Scott Schilbe, past dean; Bob Hachmeister; Matt Lehman; Cynthia McLaren; and Bob Scoggin. My deepest thanks to you all!

Also, a huge thank you to Dr. Peter and Isabelle Dyck for their ongoing financial support of our Scholarship program. By providing the funds to support scholarships for young organists, they are helping to shape the future of our profession.

This summer Trinity Lutheran Church (222 6th Avenue SW, Rochester) will be hosting a brand new noon-time organ recital program. The recital series will kick off on Tuesday, June 7 with a recital given by Dr. Chad Winterfeldt from Gustavus Adolphus College. Recitals will begin at 12:15 p.m. and will be held each Tuesday through the summer with the last one on August 31 given by Merrill N. Davis III. We are planning to hold a luncheon for AGO members following the first recital on June 7 to celebrate this new concert series. Thanks to Brian Poch for his work on this.
